  12. Hello.  My name is Richard Johnson and I am a doctoral student at the 
  13. University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.  I am contacting you because I 
  14. understand that you may be familiar with OO technology, specifically OO 
  15. systems development (OOSD) methods.  This is my current area of research 
  16. and I am hoping that you may be able to help in at least one of these 
  17. three ways:

  19. (1)  Would you complete a survey on OOSD (which can be found on the 
  20. Internet at http://comp.uark.edu/~richardj) as soon as possible?         
  21. You may complete one for those just trained in OOSD methods or one for 
  22. those who have experience developing OO systems.  The survey only takes 
  23. about 15 to 20 minutes.  In return, I will personally email the results 
  24. of the survey to you.  (If you would rather complete a hard copy, 
  25. please contact me and I will email you a Word document or mail you a 
  26. hard copy.)

  28. (2)  Would you contact as many people as you know who are familiar with 
  29. OOSD and inform them about the existence of the survey on the Internet?  
  30. These could be students, faculty or practitioners.  Again, if they would 
  31. prefer a hard copy they can contact me.

  33. (3)  Would you email, phone or write to me the names, phone numbers or 
  34. email addresses of people you believe to be knowledgeable about OOSD so 
  35. that I may contact them about the survey, especially those in 
  36. organizations that may have several OO developers on board?

  38. I would appreciate your help very much and would be glad to report my 
  39. findings to you personally as soon as they are finalized.  If you plan to 
  40. complete the survey and/or contact others, please do so as soon as 
  41. possible so that I can begin the analysis.  Thanks for your time.
